Receivers/Tight Ends
Tennessee receivers and tight ends combined for nine catches for 127 yards. That’s a nice improvement over some of the embarrassing performances from earlier in the year, but not quite as effective as the Georgia contest. Josh Smith had a huge touchdown reception in the first half and credit Josh Malone’s long catch for setting the Vols up in scoring range in the fourth quarter to take the lead. This group wasn’t dominant and struggled to get off tight coverage at times, but did enough to put UT in position compete late.
