Coaching
It’s hard to gauge the coaching in this one. The Vols got fortunate at times and benefited from five Virginia Tech fumbles, but there were obvious adjustments made after a dismal first quarter. Play-calling still left a little to be desired at times, but the offense was opened up more, and the defense looked much improved after a very rough start in the first quarter. It won’t go down as the staff’s best-called game, but they did enough to win.
