Defensive Line
After a disappointing start to the season, Tennessee’s defensive line recovered with a much better effort against Virginia Tech. Kendal Vickers had a sack and forced a fumble, Danny O’Brien showed up a few times, and Shy Tuttle made a big impact in his minimal snaps, recovering the fifth and final fumble of the game for the Vols. Corey Vereen also finished with a sack and recovered a fumble. The line got pressure but also failed to clog up enough holes to stop the Hokies from gaining chunks of yards on the ground.
