The Vols just landed one quarterback on Wednesday of this week, but it’s very likely they try to add another one. And they probably need to considering UT’s quarterback situation.

Three-star Florida quarterback Brian Maurer committed to Tennessee over Ohio State, West Virginia, and others on Wednesday. His stock is expected to rise even more as the summer progresses and as he goes through his senior season. But the Vols could use to add a second QB in this class, especially if one of Tennessee’s quarterbacks transfers off the roster prior to the 2019 season.

If, say, Will McBride transfers off the team before the 2019 season begins, the Vols will just have Jarrett Guarantano and J.T. Shrout on the roster next season. Tennessee needs to add two quarterbacks in this class to ensure they have depth next season. Names to keep an eye on are Alabama commit Taulia Tagovailoa and Cornelious “Quad” Brown.
