Updated Lady Vols Head Coach Hot Board

Tennessee’s search for a new head coach of the Lady Vols basketball program is entering its second week, and some new names have emerged in the search. Some names have been taken off the board, too.

UT Athletics Director Phillip Fulmer has plenty of choices as he looks for the next person to replace Holly Warlick as the Lady Vols’ head coach. Despite the lackluster results on the court for Tennessee this season, UT’s women’s team still has a roster full of talented players and is still recruiting at an exceptionally high level. Couple that with the premier facilities that UT boasts, and the Lady Vol job should be appealing to a great number of candidates.

This list of potential head coaches is broken up into three categories: There’s the “Big Names” category consisting of the most prominent names likely to be involved in the search, the “Rising Stars” category that’s filled with coaches breaking into the women’s game who have grabbed attention recently, and the “Lady Vol Connections” category that has candidates with ties to the Lady Vols’ program who are also serious contenders for the position.

We’ve updated the list of candidates with a couple new additions and with the removal of NC State head coach Wes Moore after he publicly said he’s not interested in the position and Louisville head coach Jeff Walz after he confirmed he’s staying at Louisville.

Take a look at our updated list of likely candidates for the Lady Vols’ head coaching position.
