10. The Vols won’t be crushed if they lose early entries to NFL
There were no answers about the future of Tennessee juniors Cam Sutton, Jalen Reeves-Maybin or Alvin Kamara. The Vols showed, however, that they’ll have options should any or all of them choose to go pro early. Jalen Hurd again showed, even when less than 100%, he is more than capable of carrying the load, while John Kelly had some decent runs late and scored a touchdown. Sure, Kamara gives UT an element that would be tough to replace, but there would be options should he leave. Darrin Kirkland Jr. continues to emerge as a potentially elite linebacker, which would ease the blow if Reeves-Maybin left. And the Vols saw first-hand what it would be like to play without Sutton when he went down in the first quarter. Justin Martin, Micah Abernathy and Emmanuel Moseley all did some good things with Sutton watching from the sideline.
