8. The Vols showed that SEC speed is no myth
It’s over-simplifying it to say that all SEC teams and players are faster than all Big Ten teams and players, but the Vols have certainly showed the last two years that they had a huge speed advantage against their Big Ten counterparts. Northwestern wasn’t dusted on every play, but UT showed several times that it clearly had the edge when getting to the corner, with some big plays by Alvin Kamara, Joshua Dobbs and Evan Berry all standing as textbook examples of guys who turned on the jets and made some plays.
