Offensive line
The Vols gave up a pair of sacks and plenty of quarterback hurries on Thursday night to a scrappy Appalachian State defensive front. The protection – especially from the interior – wasn’t too clean, as the Mountaineers regularly crossed UT up and got into the backfield. There were a few nice holes in the run game, but the overall effort simply wasn’t good enough against a Sun Belt team.
