Linebackers
Elliot Berry made his first career start, and he responded with a solid effort, totaling three tackles and half a tackle for loss. Darrin Kirkland Jr. got a tackle for loss but did little else. All in all, Tennessee’s linebackers were probably the least impressive unit on the field on Saturday with few great plays, but they helped shut down Tech’s rushing attack and didn’t really have any bad breakdowns. Cortez McDowell had the lone interception in the game, but otherwise the Vols’ linebackers weren’t heard from in pass coverage.
