Joe Doyle wasn’t quite as effective on Saturday as he’s been at times this season, but he did have a great punt that was downed inside the five that pinned Kentucky back. Brent Cimaglia was perfect in the kicking game, and UT’s return coverage units were decent enough. But the real reason I give this unit a plus is because of Shy Tuttle’s field goal block and Marquez Callaway’s 18-yard return. That return isn’t as eye-catching as his touchdown was last week, but he helped win the field position battle for the Vols with it and showed awareness on it.

Tennessee’s special teams didn’t do anything special, but it was effective. Brent Cimaglia connected on his only field goal attempt, and Joe Doyle averaged 38.4 yards per punt, but did have a long of 52-yards that pinned Kentucky within the 10-yard line. Tennessee’s coverage on punts and kickoffs were fairly solid.
