If not for injury, Todd Kelly Jr.’s time at Tennessee might’ve been remembered differently. The son of former Vol Todd Kelly Sr., Kelly showed a great deal of promise in his first three years with the Vols.

But then injury struck, and the last two years haven’t gone as planned.

Kelly only played in two games in 2017 before suffering a season-ending injury. He was granted a medical redshirt after the season, and he made his season debut this year during the Vols’ match-up with Georgia at the end of September. He’s fought his way back from that long rehab process, and he earned his first start of the season against South Carolina and started again when Tennessee took on Charlotte.

This year, Kelly has 14 tackles and made 13 of those in his two starts against South Carolina and Charlotte.

In 45 total games as a Vol, Kelly has totaled 172 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, eight interceptions, 14 passes defended, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
