Bryce Thompson played better, and I actually thought Nigel Warrior had a pretty decent showing and looked better than I expected him to. But outside of a few good plays here and there, it was another brutal night for Tennessee’s secondary. Alontae Taylor continues to regress, and Kenneth George Jr. and Taylor both were burned a few times. The secondary didn’t get much help from the Vols’ front seven, but they also just had some really bad coverages at times.

As I mentioned while assessing the play of the defensive line, Tennessee’s defensive front did the secondary no favors. Even with a lack of pressure up front and Fromm having all day to throw the football, Georgia’s wide receivers still ran wide open for most of the night. Bryce Thompson had a couple of nice plays, but it was a rough night overall for the defensive backs.
