4. Butch Jones knows how to get ready for bowl games
Jones has his flaws and questions. He’s going to have to answer a lot of them in 2017. But UT’s fourth-year head coach has shown that he has no problem getting his teams ready to play in the postseason. The Vols have outscored three Big Ten opponents – Iowa, Northwestern and Nebraska – by an average of 42.6 to 19.3 over the past three years in the TaxSlayer, Outback and Music City Bowls. Nashville wasn’t the destination of choice this year. There’s no question about that. Jones, however, continues to show that he can keep the team motivated and ready to play in the postseason, regardless of what has transpired in the prior weeks.
