Most of Tennessee’s senior leadership is on defense this year, and Shy Tuttle figures to be one of those veteran leaders. Last year was the most action Tuttle has seen in one season at Tennessee so far because injuries robbed him of so many games in his first two seasons. But this is the first time Tuttle has been truly healthy since the beginning of his freshman year, and he looked like a new player in the spring.

Tuttle was praised for his hard work and determination by his coaches in the spring, and that could translate to Pruitt tabbing him as one of the three players who come with him to SEC Media Days. If Tuttle stays healthy this year, he’ll likely be Tennessee’s starting nose tackle on defense. That’s a very important position in Pruitt’s 3-4 defense, and what better way to show his confidence in Tuttle’s ability than to take him to Atlanta?
