Trey Smith, OL
Right now, Trey Smith’s football future is still a bit in question. Pruitt has hinted enough that Smith should be good to go for fall camp, but he’s not been officially cleared to return to practice after an undisclosed medical issue kept him out of spring practices this year.
Smith, who is just a sophomore, is undoubtedly one of the most talented players on Tennessee’s entire roster when healthy. If he was fully healthy and didn’t miss the spring, he would probably be under consideration for SEC Media Days more heavily even if he is one of the younger players on the Vols’ roster. But as it is, he’s probably more likely to be one of the Vols in attendance for next year’s SEC Media Days instead of this year.
