8. LaTroy Lewis
Tennessee’s defense didn’t have a bad night overall after a slow start in Week 1, but one player struggled to really assert himself on the defensive line. And that was LaTroy Lewis.
Lewis didn’t have a terrible night, but he didn’t have a great one either. He was out of position and ran himself out of plays multiple times, which led to some bigger plays around the edge than should’ve happened.
Derek Barnett and Cory Vereen will get the most play at defensive end for the Vols, but Lewis is one of the first ones up on the rotation to spell them. He’ll need a better performance as the main backup in his next game.
